I firmly believe that clarity is the scarcest and most valuable resource you will need in order to find and live your purpose. The reason why most people aren’t able to attract what they desire in life is simply because they are unable to clearly visualize what they want.

A Common Mistake That Most Guru’s Make

The people who incorrectly visualize typically will follow the advice of so called Guru’s who claim to be an authority in the subject of the law of attraction. These “experts” will pass down bad advice on how to visualize and therefore, the people who practice their incorrect methods, will experience poor results.

The advice will normally sound something like this, “Close your eyes, sit back, take a deep breath and visualize what you want in your mind. After that, each day practice it over and over again, until you get what you want.”

That is terrible advice.

Here’s why: A common mistake that

most Guru’s make, when teaching visualization, is they will tell you to visualize what you want. The problem is that when you visualize what you want in your mind, you are telling you other than conscious mind to focus on something that you don’t have. This focus of energy actually puts into the universe the feeling of need. When you dwell on needing something, you are compounding stress in a negative way, the emotions that typically come from need are: frustration, worry and anxiety.

Think of a needy person you might have known in the past, more specifically, someone who constantly asks you to loan them money. How does being around them make you feel? Did you feel excited to see them whenever they came around? The answer is probably not, the truth is every time you saw them, you’d probably be looking for the nearest exit.

To keep things into perspective, the universe treats a person who visualizes from the place of need, in the exact same manor.

What was I doing wrong for so long?

Before I knew how to properly visualize, I would spend much of my time focused on what I needed. I needed money, I needed to travel, I needed to find my purpose. The result was I got the exact opposite.

For some time, I had actually given up on trying to visualize all together because I simply thought it was stupid and it didn’t work. Now don’t get me wrong I have been studying self improvement for nearly 5 years, or so, so it wasn’t like I just tired one book , I was very persistent, I would came across many different resources that tried to teach this subject. Especially, since I worked as a joint venture (JV) broker in the self improvement space, I have seen many Guru’s explain how to visualize, but for some reason, for me it just didn’t seem to work.

It wasn’t until started working with, Rishan Bhagowat, (yes that is his real last name, not a typo) as one of my JV clients. After going through his program is called manifest it all today, it was like a breath of fresh air. I was relieved because it wasn’t that I couldn’t visualize properly, it’s just I was doing it wrong for so long. After learning and applying his principles to manifest through the power of visualization, I’ve been able to regularly attract, the things that I want in my life.

I’ll tell you more about what has been attracting in my life, during the next upcoming months, but for now that’s not important.

What I’m going to do in the bottom part of this post is show you exactly how to clearly visualize what you want.

Here is couple things to keep in mind before visualizing

  • The most important rule, always keep in perspective that you are already enjoying what you previously wanted. When you put out this feeling of having what you already want this will help you transmit the feeling of ownership. Think about anything you have worked for and owned. How good does that makes you feel? How proud does that make you feel to own it? The same feeling you have about what you own now, is the same feeling you must have when you are visualizing what you desire.
  • The next thing you should keep in mind this that what you are visualizing should be flowing and in vivid detail, you should be able to tell a story to yourself about how it has already occurred, the more comprehensive and detail you infuse into the the story the better.
  • And last but not least, it should be hand written. There is huge difference between writing something down on a computer than writing it on a sheet of paper. Science has proven that when you write things down in vivid detail, you are exercising your brain beyond it’s current limits, this process will help you create new neural pathways. The more you can get your mind to look beyond what you see now through your writing, the more clarity you will develop in your vision.

Quick Note: A lot of the time when visualizing things that has not happened yet, people will give up and stop participating in visualizing what they want, like I did, because it feels stupid. It’s important to understand, that your subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between reality and imagination and will act like a sponge and absorb whatever you give it. Therefore, if you can get past the locked gates of your conscious mind to your subconscious mind, you can feed the subconscious an imagined reality. So if you can imagine yourself already having what you want, your subconscious mind will accept that as reality.

Here are the steps to creating a picture perfect visualization:

Answer the following questions on a piece of paper, in as much detail as possible. The goal of this is to incorporate as many senses as possible, the more senses that we can add to the mix the more neural pathway’s you will create in your mind, the powerful this exercise will become.

Choose something that you want to manifest through the power of visualization.

1) Now that you have achieved your goal, what are the exact external pictures or images do you see there?

Example: Imagine if you want to visualize going on a trip to New York City, you would say something like this.

  • I am standing on 34th street in Manhattan in the winter and directly in front of me is the empire state building. It’s night time, so I can see all of the beautiful lights. On the left side of me a see a couple standing at the foot of the building taking picture. On the right side I see kids throwing snow balls at each other show, I think I’m a little to close thought because the misty from disintegrating ball actually grazed my face…. and so on…(this should be about 1 page in a half thick)

2) Now that you have achieved your goal, what kinds of sounds do you hear?

  • Can you hear, the yellow taxi cabs honking their horns?
  • Can you hear, the people laughing in the back ground, as the kids throw show balls in the background?
  • Can you hear, the ticket agent, asking anyone who walk by if they want tickets?

3) Now that you have achieved your goal, what sensations do you feel?

  • At this point don’t focus on the emotional aspect of feeling but instead think about the external feelings like the temperature, vibration or movement? Example: You can feel the lent balls inside you pockets as you try to cover your hands on this chilly day, or how you feel reviving the engine as your inside your brand new car.

4) What do you see inside? What picture do you see inside you mind?

5) What is the internal dialog? What are feeling inside?

  • This is where you actually describe the emotional aspect. Now that you have achieved what you desire, what are you feeling inside.
  • i. How does it make you feeling to finally have what you want?
  • Be sure to add gratitude, describe the happiness that you feel for getting what you wanted.

6) Ask yourself this, what are the 3 most important actions I can take today that will bring me closer to you vision? Once you find that answer, prioritize the order of things to do by it’s level of importance and then go knock them out 1 by 1.

If you want to go a deeper into the understanding how to clearly visualize and attract you desires, I would click here to correctly learn how to apply the law of attraction to your life.

Thank you so much for posting this. I just finished writing about my dream job that I love. I am just finishing school as a Paralegal and beginning to send out my resume. Wow…after writing about my new job, I can’t WAIT to arrive at this visualization. My future looks so bright, happy, and fullfilling. Thank you so much for teaching me this. I will continue to write down my dreams in a notebook I have only for my visualizations. <3

Amy,

Our minds are magnificent machines, waiting to be programmed and to carry out the wishes of its programmer. We have an incredible gift, when used properly.
